Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of the "fair and balanced" coverage of political events on television, particularly cable, is that the commentators and talking heads generally filter everything through such a partisan microscope that analysis almost always loses out to the party line.
Thus, when the McCain campaign performs such a blatantly political, desperate, and completely symbolic move like "suspending his campaign," there just aren't enough Chuck Todd's left out there to call shenanigans on him. Thank God for David Letterman...
